I am a Jackson native who loves the three F’s - food, faith and family. I have blogged for the JFP since 2005 (link here), I did some freelance online editing for the newspaper for a few years, and I have been an employee since 2009. I graduated from Tougaloo College with a BS in mathematics with an emphasis in computer science in 1996, and I am currently working on my associate’s degree in graphic design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. At the JFP, I have won two Falcon Awards and one Manager’s Choice Award. As an events editor, I update the events calendar at jfpevents.com, and I publish a portion of those each week. I also write the Eight Days a Week entertainment and write an occasional article here and there. I also wear the title of production designer, where I plan the layout of the paper each week, and I do graphic design work as needed. I sell artwork on products at Zazzle.com and Cafepress, I have some poems posted at AuthorsDen, and I have a graphic design blog called afrobohemianchick.
