Anthony DiFatta

Anthony DiFatta is a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and currently lives in Jackson with his wife, Melissa, and son Preston. He spent most of his formative years in the swamps of Southern Louisiana near New Orleans where he grew to love art, nature, and Southern Culture. After a tour in McMurdo Station, Antarctica with the U.S. Navy, he returned to Mississippi to study painting and sculpture at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Anthony left his job as a graphic designer for MCI WorldCom in 2000 to pursue painting full-time. He is involved with several non-profit, charity, and historical preservation organizations including: HeArts Against Aids, Habitat for Humanity, the ACLU, Cancer League of Jackson, Magnolia Speech School, Mississippi Heritage Trust, Stewpot Community Services, and Crossroads Film Festival. His work can be found in private, public, and corporate collections throughout Mississippi and in New York, California, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Birmingham, Memphis, Virginia, North Carolina, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Australia, England, and Italy.

These days Anthony is teaching art to adults with mental illness through the Mississippi State Hospital and the Stubbs Homeless Program. He is available to speak about his work and the use of art in the treatment of serious mental illness.
