A unique and one of a kind of experience awaits as The Greater Belhaven Market celebrates its 7 th season. The early Saturday morning flurry of activities turns an ordinary parking lot into an eclectic shopping area offering organic produce, gourmet food, art and handcrafted treasures – buy direct from friendly vendors who are only allowed to sell what they have made themselves. At the Belhaven Market, you will find delicious local produce, artwork, breads and cakes, pottery, and new surprises every Saturday.
Many guests pause under colorful Market umbrellas to enjoy breakfast accompanied by live music provided each week by some of Jackson’s most talented musicians. Then it’s time to browse around, pick up dinner, find a special gift for someone, and mingle with friends.
The Market is family friendly - many folks ride their bikes, stroll their children and even bring their dogs to the Market. The Market is open every Saturday from April 5 to December 20, 2008 in the English Village shopping center on Fortification Street next to McDade’s and Belhaven Street’s Basil’s. Market hours are 9a.m.to 1p.m. – rain or shine.
