CelticFest Mississippi takes place annually the weekend after Labor Day in Jackson, Mississippi at the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Museum. The “Ag Museum” is an idyllic setting, conveniently located at the intersection of the I-55 expressway and Lakeland Drive (Hwy 25). Because much of CelticFest is scheduled to take place indoors in air conditioned auditoriums, CelticFest is held RAIN or SHINE!

crowdFestivities begin Friday night 7pm-12am with music/dance performances on multiple stages, vendors, the annual Whiskey and Scotch Tasting benefit, and an open tune session.  On Saturday, the gates open at 10am with even more entertainment, workshops, and activities continuously until midnight (or later!). The gates open again 11am Sunday for another day of Celtic fun, wrapping up by 6pm.

An ever popular highlight of CelticFest, the massive C’il’ M’r Dance (pronounced “kay-lee") caps off the Saturday night with live music from three shifts of Irish trad bands! “They don’t turn out like this in Ireland! This is astounding!,” said Eoin Verling of the Fuchsia Band.

Coyne and Verling CelticFest is a family-friendly festival. There will be a Children’s Area with activities they can do with their parents, plus kid-oriented vendors on the grounds.

In addition to stage performances, the weekend is full of opportunities to participate and learn at one of the many free music, dance, or cultural workshops. Workhops are generally conducted by CelticFest performers and are geared towards general audiences with an interest in the topic.

The Celtic Heritage Society is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the mission of promoting and preserving the arts and culture of the Celtic nations.  CelticFest is a family-oriented event, and all CHS events are open to the public.
