THE HAT
Hard to go wrong with the hat at any of there locations. I first encountered The Hat in Vicksburg, MS, years ago. The prices are low, the food is plentifull, but best of all: its good eats (nod to Alton B.). I have a liking for Chili Relleno and in general their’s is no let down. I had it today off their lunch menu in Flowood, however, and I was taken aback when served a pile of ...chili relleno,chili and meat chopped up together - not a chili stuffed with cheese like I expected (and had received at a lunch serving from the same menu in Clinton before). Everyone’s plate at the table was clean at the end of lunch though. The salsa is hot with cilantro and onion bits-tasty. Service has always been good at the Vicksburg, Clinton and today, too, at the Flowood location. At one point when one of our party quetioned whether he could substitute an item, the waiter said, “whatever you want, sir.” as if it was expected. The tea was delicious.
