Elizabeth Pellegrine
Elizabeth “Izzy” Pellegrine is a Jackson area native and currently a student at Mississippi State University, pursuing a double major of Social Work and Sociology. Izzy served as president of Starkville NOW for two years, and has held multiple positions in Mississippi NOW. She is currently a member of the Mississippi Safe Schools Coalition‘s queer youth advisory board (QYAB) and has been featured on CNN’s “In America” series which documented MSSC’s work to make schools in Mississippi safer for lgbt students. She was recently awarded a Point Foundation scholarship. Izzy has also been an active leader in the GSAs at Mississippi State and Mississippi School for Math & Science (MSMS), and she served as secretary of Unity MS. She is also a member of National NOW’s young feminist task force, and the Planned Parenthood public policy committee.
