Industrial Parks

The City of Jackson is home to three major industrial parks, Hawkins Field, Northwest and Mayes-Lawson Commerce Park Industrial Area. Each park is assessable by railway and the interstate system. The City of Jackson maintains water/sewer and dedicated roadways. Both Hawkins Field and Northwest Industrial Parks are in a Foreign Trade Sub Zone, and enjoy all benefits therein. There are other industrial zoned areas throughout the City that are not included in the industrial Park listing.

Hawkins Field Industrial Park
Hawkins Field is the City of Jackson’s largest and oldest Industrial Park, and houses over 120 manufacturing, distributing and warehousing businesses. Hawkins Field is immediately assessable to the Kansas City Southern Railroad line and is the site of a new interchange off of Interstate 220. Hawkins Field is in a Foreign Trade Sub Zone.
The Industrial Park is also the home of the Hawkins Field General Aviation Airport. The Hawkins Field Airport is under the authority of the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority and provides excellent facilities and services for private and corporate flights in close proximity to Downtown Jackson.

Northwest Industrial Park:
Located in Northwest Jackson near the junction of Interstate 220 and Interstate 55, Northwest is the newest Industrial Park in the City of Jackson. There are over 200 available acres at the Northwest Industrial park, and all unimproved land for sale is owned by the City of Jackson. Restrictive covenants at Northwest exclude some heavy industrial uses.
The nearest interstate is I-220, and is less than 3 miles from the Park. Sites in Northwest are assessable to the Illinois Central Railroad line. Northwest is in a Foreign Trade Sub Zone.
Please contact the Office of Economic Development at 601-9601993 for available sites in Northwest Industrial Park.

Mayes-Lawson Commerce Park Industrial Area:
Mayes-Lawson Commerce Park Industrial Area is located in northwest Jackson, and the heart of the City. Businesses in this industrial area include plastics and other manufacturing, warehousing and distribution.
It is located less than 2 miles from Highway 49 and less than 6 miles from Interstate 220. The Illinois Central Railroad Line is assessable from Mayes-Lawson Commerce Park.
