To operate a trendy boutique like Material Girls, a “Best Dressed” award from high school won’t cut if it’s the only thing on your résumé. Luckily, owner Whitney Giordano has that honor under her belt plus a college degree and real world experience. Majoring in fashion merchandising with a minor in marketing from the University of Southern Mississippi, Whitney’s dream took off right from the first few weeks it was open. And, I will vouch for it – this is one place it’s hard to just window shop. Look’s like the degree and best dressed distinction are serving her well.
