Located just 20 minutes from the Jackson area on Hwy 49N, near Flora, is a geologic natural wonder dating back 36 million years! It�s the Mississippi Petrified Forest which has been designated a Registered Natural Landmark. This privately owned attraction features a large array of giant stone logs uncovered by erosion and are viewed along a half mile nature trail that is well designed, excellently maintained and is handicap accessible as well as friendly to strollers and well behaved pets on a leash.
At trail�s end, visitors return to our museum which features world class mineral and fossil specimens from around the planet. The grounds include a picnic area available to our visitors and a recently constructed covered pavilion which can be reserved for large groups, family reunions and special events.
