Pickin and Paddlin Outdoor Festival is an annual Americana music festival held every May at Mayes Lake Park (part of LeFleur’s Bluff-Lakeland Entrance.) Pickin & Paddlin activities include: All day Canoe and Kayak Races on the lake (Canoes are provided), kid’s activities (kids 12 and under get in free!), BBQ lunches included with price of Admission and live music from some of the hottest local acts! 

Local and Regional Acts have included: The Vernon Brothers, The Freight Hoppers, Mayhem String Band, The Scramblers, Horse Trailer, Eric Stracener & The Frustrations, King Edward, The Hot Tamales, Broken String Band, Hired Man’s Horse and many others! 

General Admission (BBQ lunch included)is: $10.00
Canoe/Kayak Race: $5
Kids 12 and under Get in Free!

Pickin’ & Paddlin’ has become a favorite of parents in the Jackson area, receiving a “good showing” award by the Jackson Free Press for Best Kids Event in 2008.  All children 12 and under receive free admission to the festival and enjoy many children’s activities including: face painting, games, crafts and a 52 foot obstacle course (as well as a free BBQ lunch)! 

All proceeds from the festival benefit the Neighborhood Christian Center and its educational programs for inner city youth in downtown Jackson. http://www.nccjackson.com
