Rachel Misenar
Art has always been Rachel’s first true love. This was a love and appreciation that was fostered in her heart early on by her father, Charlie Busler. He used to teach her about the great painters of our era such as Walter Anderson, Pablo Picasso, Georgia O’Keefe and Robert Motherwell. Their excursions to New Orleans and Magazine Street opened even more avenues for her perception of art. Art became an image of soul, nature and self.
After returning from China, Rachel wanted to take the elements of nature that she experienced and put them on canvas for other people to enjoy. Most importantly, she wanted others to experience emotional color. So, she created Lucky Snow.
Lucky Snow is a place where art lovers and collectors can come to view her experiences that she has had all over the world. The name “Lucky Snow” was actually the name given to Rachel by her Chinese host family. In rural China, the first snow (or Lucky Snow) is a prediction that the crops for the next year will be plentiful. Rachel’s travels and love of nature play true and pure in her work.
Rachel lives with her husband, Seth, and little boy, Jude, in the Belhaven area. She serves as a 4th grade educator, writer for a devotional website, cofounder of an online mommy group and artist. She has shown professionally at Lucas Road Gallery in Meridian for the past two years. Rachel is currently working on her upcoming show in November.
