Early Life
Whitlow graduated from Illinois State University with degrees in Pre-Law and Criminal Justice. Whitlow was a standout on Illinois State’s basketball team. He was drafted by the Houston Rockets in the 5th Round of the 1975 NBA Draft.
Whitlow moved to Jackson in 1985.
2005 Campaign for Mayor
In 2005, Whitlow ran for Mayor as a Republican. He would receive only 10% of the vote against Frank Melton in the General Election.
Whitlow has worked as a sports anchor for WJTV and WAPT. He has also served as executive director for SafeCity Initative.
