Ronni Mott is the managing editor of the Jackson Free Press, where she began as an intern after leaving a marketing career with WorldCom. She has won numerous awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Association of Alternative Newsmedia for her in-depth coverage of domestic abuse in Mississippi, including for revealing in 2008 that Gov. Haley Barbour had pardoned or given other sentencing relief to four killers of wives or girlfriends (with research assistance of Sophie McNeil).
