Beauty, which is both elusive and subjective, is what I seek in my photographs and will use whatever tools I can muster to attain it, from over-painting by hand to computer modification. If you see things in my images that convey some message, provide some insight, provoke some thought, or give some pleasure, then I have succeeded. But first, of course, I aim to satisfy my own esthetic sensibilty.
Born in Brooklyn and educated there through a New York University doctorate, I have had a satisfying career that combined research, teaching, and management, much of it carried out at UMC. Photography was not my professional career, but has always been part of my professional and private life. Photography provides an ideal outlet for both curiosity about the nature of living things and the expression of artistic creativity. I have serious health problems, and wish to use the time I have left on this earth to give voice to my interests and thoughts through photography, and possibly produce images that may be of interest to others.
All artists strive for public recognition. I welcome any criticism or any dialogue regarding my art.
