Smith-Wills Parking Lot
The parking lot of Smith-Wills Stadium was a popular meeting place for teenagers in the 1980’s.
Even though most gatherings were short-lived, because JPD arrived eventually to instruct everyone to leave the premises, many weekend nights began in the Smith-Wills parking lot.
The Friday and Saturday night trifecta for parking lot loitering in Northeast Jackson was Smith-Wills Stadium, Krystal at I-55, and the Post Office at Jacksonian Plaza off Old Canton Road.
