Stamps Superburger
For great burgers that’ll keep you full until the next day, you’ve got to go to Stamps. You haven’t lived in Jackson until you’ve eaten at Stamp’s (and the restaurant formerly known as Stamps, now Cool Al’s, which shares this award). The perfect burger demands the perfect fries, so it only makes sense that Stamps won best fries, too. The homestyle fries are always fresh, cut by hand using white potatoes. Diners choose a seasoning for the fries: traditional, lemon pepper, seasoning salt or Cajun seasoning. - Natalie A. Collier (Best Burger, Best of Jackson, 2007)
History
In 2006, Stamps Superburger on McWillie changed its name to Cool Al’s, reflecting its ownership by Al Stamps. Brothers and other relatives of Al’s own the other Stamps Superburger location at 1801 Dalton Street in West Jackson (near Jackson State University).
