1. Explain how and why you would provide good leadership for your ward.
A) I will be a hands on Council member not for just South Jackson but all of Jackson,
bringing integrity back into the Council Chamber.
B) Because I have a proven record of leadership in every job that I have held, even in the church where I am a Deacon and a Finance Officer.
2. What are your infrastructure priorities, and how would you pay for infrastructure repairs?
Drains and Severs are number (1) one in infrastructure, we would cut down on wasteful spending in every department and put it where it needs to be.
3. What measures would you propose/support for combating crime in the city?
First get the neighborhoods back involved, get the police department to have a good relationship with the people in the area and let them work together and build trust with each other.
4. How would you handle the police chief position? Would you support returning to a full-time chief? Why or why not?
1) A) The police chief position should be a full time job not part time
B) Yes.
C) Because it is to much crime in the City for a part time police chief
5. What are your economic-development priorities for the city?
Bring some new restaurants to the city so people will not have to go outside of the city to eat , also get a cinema to commit to coming into the city, if we can get these types of entitities into the city that spells jobs.
6. How would you alter the employee pay/benefit structure?
As we all know MS has the lowest pay scale in the US we need to get off of the bottom of something, we have the highest taxes and the lowest pay. So health care and taxes go up than so should pay.
7. How would you improve transparency in government?
Everything should be televised and put on a website so anyone can see and or read it.
8. There are various proposals that would ostensibly help with flood control on the Pearl, and perhaps increase development and/or green space for the city. What program would you support and why?
There are two different flood control plans the two lakes plan and the Lefleur Lakes Lower Lake plan, the plan that I support is the two lake plan, because of several reasons,
a) It will regulate and prerelease water from the reservoir and I t will reduce downstream flooding about 0.06 ft,
b) It will also cost less, the two lakes plan cost, 175,805,200 this Quoit dos not include the 3 bridges, and the two lakes with the 3 bridges are 253,006,000. The Lefleur Lake plan total cost is 400,800,000 with no bridges included,
c) It will also have around 32 Islands approximately 130 miles of shoreline land
available for development.
9. What needs to happen to improve the relationship between City Council and the mayoral administration?
First the city council need to find themselves physically mentally and spiritually and learn to agree to disagree and have some moral’s about themselves and then the integrity will come afterwards.
10. What role should the city play to help the youth of Jackson? Please provide your specific plans.
The city should step up to the plate and open the pools and some sort of recreation park(s) for young people to attend, give them something to do after school and summer, also have more mentors in the school system, have some of the children to have a mock government and let them make some rules.
11. How would you bring new funds into the city of Jackson’s coffers?
I would hope to replace the air and heating systems in the older schools, community centers, and all city owned buildings, and use the savings to repair the streets and put more people to work.
12. Do you support making Capitol Street two-way?
At this time I would not support it until studies have been done for whatever reason that is necessary.
13. What can you do/support to make the city more attractive to residents?
Get the crime under control and tear down those abandon houses.
14. What can you do/support to make the city more attractive to businesses?
Fix all of these bad streets and get the crime under control
15. What is something fun/interesting about you that few people know?
I like racing and having fun
