The Pearl above the Reservoir

There are several good points of departure for a round trip paddle (only one car needed) on the Pearl just above the Reservoir, featuring lots of beautiful bywaters and wildlife.

1.  DOWNSTREAM FROM RIVER BEND PARK (on the Natchez Trace).  A few hundred yards down the Pearl, take your second possible left turn to enter the Lost Lakes area.  Explore its eastern limit till you reach the mouth of Fannegusha Creek.

2.  UPSTREAM FROM RATLIFF FERRY BOAT RAMP (on the Natchez Trace, next road after River Bend park).

3.  DOWNSTREAM FROM COAL BLUFF STATE PARK (on the east side of the river, reached from Lakeland)

This whole stretch of the Pearl is on the “Sharon SE” USGS topo map, which is well worth having.  It is stocked by the Certified Map Store at 4816 Lakeland, just west of Dogwood Festival.
