Water Treatment Plant
The Jackson water treatment plant has two road entrances, one at the East end of Riverside Drive running along the Northside of Belhaven Neighborhood and one at the East end of Laurel Street which runs through the middle of the neighborhood extending out from the East side of the Belhaven College Campus. In order to access our scenic Pearl River Basin, you will want to use the Laurel Street Road entrance. If you see any no trespassing signs feel free to disregard them. From here you can follow the train tracks out to where the old train trestle/community contemplation spot used to be or go South along the bank. If you follow the train tracks around the water treatment plant you there is some interesting swamp bottom and some depressing litter.
